a sketchbook
Published 2012-04-27 by Erin Pfister

This is my new favorite find — Sara Midda’s South of France | A Sketchbook. You can even flip through the pages here. A new client has let me borrow this little gem and I’m definitely going to have to get one for myself. Do you keep a sketchbook? This really makes me want to. I love the idea of keeping track of all types of inspiration we see every day. Then, of course, the fact that it is all in watercolor makes me love it even more. I took several watercolor classes in school from an amazing professor. He would paint antique cars where the metal looked real with the glisten of the sun bouncing on the surface. As a designer who works on the computer so much, I do love those times when I just sit and sketch — I must make more time when I get out a paint brush and create something, even if they are small sketches. Here are some of my favorite pages.

Happy Friday ~ I’ll be working on the final booth plans for New York (NSS – booth #1669) all weekend. It’s all coming together… can’t wait to share the final product!

It’s that time of year again when the preparations for The National Stationery Show
{ BOOTH 1669! } are in full swing. I can hardly believe it’s time already… so much to do;) Lucky for you, that means that we have a new collection to share with you!! AND, in addition to that, there will be new products for the premier Vicarello collection. In order to prepare you for what will be in stores soon, let’s take a trip to the beautiful Argentina which inspired this next collection.
Walk the streets & enjoy the rooftop views in Palermo~

Wander through the enchanting Recoleta Cemetery~

Shop the markets + do a little antiquing in San Telmo~

Enjoy the bright colors in La Boca~

Roaming the streets in Buenos Aires, Argentina, has lead me to create a collection inspired by the patterns, colors, and landscapes you find there. If you ever considered visiting this area, I highly recommend it ;) I would even provide of list of “must do’s” while you are there. Shopping the open air markets, Indian food in the coolest pub ever? Yes, please… take me back.
artist spotlight } James Way

James Way is an artist that blows me away. Seriously, I look at these images and just swoon. I guess it would be fair to admit that I am completely enamored with horses. Their strength, stature and size capture me. I would truly love to see these in person… Check out Way’s bio page to see the size of them in comparison to him. Impressive for sure.

I am also captivated by his landscapes. Those clouds and the lighting make me speechless. I love to find an artist who’s work I could stare at for hours on end. James Way is most certainly on that list of mine.
Happy weekend~
wedding spotlight } Brad + Jill
Published 2012-03-15 by Erin Pfister

Meet Brad + Jill, the most incredible couple. Caring, beautiful, and oh, so in love. This past fall, these two had a perfect weekend surrounded by all their friends and family celebrating their marriage. How Jackie O. is this bride in that gown! The gorgeous veil was also worn by Jill’s mother and she carried her mother-in-laws’ rosary around her flowers.

The couple wanted the elements of the wedding to be traditional with a modern twist… we began with the invitation suite and combined classic navy with a touch of gold in a modern layout. Even their thank you notes showcased the clean and simple look.

The elements we used in the main invitation are carried throughout the program, escort cards, place cards and table numbers. Do you see this great idea of placing the escort cards in between the pages of books? Such a pretty display… do take note.

Is anyone else dying over this classic gold car? What an incredible way to leave your reception. I love it! Congratulations to the very happy couple~

Nga waiata jewelry is my new obsession. Handcrafted in New Zealand, this designer uses recycled New Zealand hardwood fused with semi-precious stones and Brazilian crystals to create one-of-a-kind pieces. These stunning baubles of amazonite, amethyst, and rose quartz are available only at Barney’s New York in the U.S. and online here at Taigan. They are certainly being added to my wish list.

Loving the feature on Oh So Beautiful Paper from the beautiful farm wedding of Josh + Madeline. Remember it? Kraft paper + white text, letterpress details, and a stunning farm backdrop. All the details make such a difference, right?

GO // Greece {Zakynthos Island}
Breathtaking, no? I’m gonna be honest… I’d be okay just about anywhere in Greece. Bright blue water and simple white architecture = love.
WEAR // Mint open back dress with either a great cuff or statement necklace
DO // Spend a day scuba diving in the magical underwater caves
{ cheers to dreaming on a Friday afternoon }
